The American Legion Post 10 will host a Remembrance of the Four Chaplains at 2 p.m. Feb. 3 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1403 Market St. The program is an ecumenical gathering, honoring four noncombatant servicemen of different denominations who gave their own lives to save others on the troop transport, USS Dorchester, which was torpedoed in the north Atlantic in 1943. More than 600 men died, but the chaplains stayed aboard to comfort the sailors as the ship sank. The service is open to the public.
