Contributors » Sara Clark

Sara Clark is originally from Park Forest, Ill., a suburb of Chicago. She graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a degree in journalism and started her career in journalism at her college newspaper as a general news reporter and later moved into photography. By her second year at the publication, she became photo editor and also worked shifts as a photographer at the local newspaper in the Charleston area, near EIU.

After graduation, she worked as a photojournalist for six years in Northwest Indiana. Clark was blessed to receive rewards from the Associated Press and Hoosier State Press Association for both writing and photography during those years she worked in the field. She has also had work published in USA Today, the Washington Post, the New York Post and the Indianapolis Star.

In March 2007, she resigned and went to South Africa to do mission work. While there, she taught others how to put together a newspaper for ministry purposes. Clark is married and living in Charlotte, N.C., though she lived in Wilmington previously.

"Photography, to me," she says, "is a wild arena of possibility that is both infectious and informative in nature."
