COMMENTARY: This election’s biggest losers - faith leaders who backed candidates
Politics and religion writer David Scott says some of the biggest losers falling on the political sword in this year's election cycle weren't the politicians but the religious leaders who backed them. "These religious ideologues, Franklin Graham for example, not only backed the losing candidate. Even more devastatingly, they lost credibility, relevance, and the moral high ground. Religious “true believers” and evangelicals lost their biggest tools for spreading the Word, their trustworthiness, their moral integrity, and their religious standing."
