There was a day when being a Christian seemed to be accepted and almost “popular” (if I may choose that word). I did live in rural Oklahoma, maybe that had something to do with my perception. Christianity was accepted as a way of life even in politics.
But I feel the tide changing. There’s a hateful tone against those of us who believe in Christ. That tone is heard in voices crying out for tolerance. Ironic that their strong feelings against Christianity deny what they’re fighting for. It is definitely more popular to be politically correct these days than to share Christian beliefs.
So, when young athletes like gold medal winner Gabby Douglas tell reporters that she balances nerves by quoting scripture and praying, it brings tears to my eyes. I’m proud of her for sharing her faith on worldwide television. How many of us will ever get that chance? Her faith encourages me. I believe it also encourages others.

Andy you make a great point about the voices of tolerance and their complete intolerance of Christians. Like you I am very proud of athletes and anyone in the public arena that gives glory to God for His blessings. For those of us who know Him and realize that He gives us the very breath we breathe ...... how could we do less?
