VIEWPOINTS: Does taking God off a political party’s platform mean that party is godless?

What’s more important - the name or the deeds done in the name?

Two points: First, if you use the name of God but don’t follow through with the kind of behavior God requires, e.g. taking care of all in need in your society, then are you more Christian than those who do focus on all people but don’t use the name?

Second, the book of Esther is in the Hebrew Bible, the Christian Old Testament, without once mentioning the name of God. Does that mean is Esther ungodly or should not be kept in the Bible?

David Scott says: "After the mention of God’s name to sanctify the air, they then proceed to express views and policies that would make a Christian God shudder.  Using God’s name to endorse an ungodly idea or policy is nothing short of blasphemous."
