It's a resource downtown doesn't currently have - a walking tour showcasing just some of the brilliant art that Wilmington's riverfront worship spaces have to offer.
Now it's here! The WilmingtonFAVS Religious Art Walking Tour will be 3-5 p.m. on Aug. 19 and Aug. 26 starting at St. Mary Catholic Church at 412 Ann St.
Tickets are a suggested donation of $10 and all proceeds go to support the Cape Fear area's faith news source. Plus, we're a nonprofit through Religious Newswriters Association so you can take part of your ticket price off of your taxes!
Longtime faith reporter Amanda Greene will lead the tour.
Arrive early if you haven't bought your tickets in advance. We'll accept cash or check at the door.
On the tour, you'll experience detailed and quirky stained glass windows, sculpture and paintings at St. Mary Catholic Church, First Presbyterian Church, St. James Episcopal Church, Temple of Israel, First Baptist Church and St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Look for these road signs at major intersections across Wilmington soon.
The first 50 people at each tour get a WilmingtonFAVS schwag bag.
Call the WilmingtonFAVS offices with any questions at 910-520-3958.
We can't wait to see you there!
