Wilmington Faith and Values to begin Spiritual Book Club in February

Old Books on Front Street is teaming up with Wilmington Faith and Values to bring you the Port City's first Spiritual Book Club. 

The first meeting will be at 6 p.m. Feb. 25 inside Old Books, 249 N. Front St., in downtown Wilmington. The first books is Rob Bell's controversial Love Wins which debates the Christian theological concepts behind hell and the afterlife.

 

Meetings on the fourth Monday of each month should last about 1 1/2 hours and will include lots of stimulating conversations on the big spiritual questions on the club's 2013 book list. All the books can be found at local books stores or online. 

Here are the first seven months of books and the meeting dates.

Feb. 25: Love Wins by Rob Bell
March 25: When She Woke by Hillary Jordan (NC author)
April 22: Nearing Home: Life, Faith and Finishing Well by Billy Graham (NC author)
May 27: Bad Religion: How we became a nation of heretics by Ross Douthat
June 24: Misquoting Jesus by Bart Ehrman (NC author)
July 22: Nine Parts of Desire by Geraldine Brooks
Aug. 26: Unorthodox: The Scandalous Rejection of My Hasidic Roots by Deborah Feldman
