BRIEF: Humanists to celebrate Darwin Day

The Humanists and Freethinkers of Cape Fear will host its annual Darwin Day celebration at 6 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 17) at the YWCA Bridge Center, 127-40 S. College Road, off Government Center Drive. UNCW research geologist Roger Shew will be the speaker.  He is currently writing a manual on the Natural History of the Coastal Plain of North Carolina. Evolution-themed foods will be served at the potluck such as pteradactyl eggs or Clem's famous primordial stew or DNA donuts.
