BRIEF: Fort Macon beachgoers to protest off-shore drilling with Hands Across the Sand

N.C. Interfaith Power & Light and the NC Sierra Club are co-sponsoring the Fort Macon “Hands Across the Sand,” an international event protesting offshore oil drilling and favoring alternative power like wind and solar. The public is welcome. Participants will meet at 11:30 a.m. at the Fort Macon State Park education center and link arms at noon to reach as far as they can down a non-swimming beach at Altlantic Beach.  A similar event is taking place near Nags Head, N.C.
