The Wilmington area will soon gain another safe place for those in recovery. Lifepoint Church will announce Sunday (Oct. 28) that they will begin a new Celebrate Recovery venue in the coming months, and will begin Leadership Training soon.

The informational meeting for those interested in leadership training at Lifepoint will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 5 at 3534 S. College Road in Wilmington.

Our city is blessed to have a number of meetings held by Celebrate Recovery, a Christ-based recovery program that incorporates a 12-step program with eight Biblical principals. Individuals who are struggling with any hurt, habit or hang-up are encouraged to attend the meetings in a safe, confidential environment.

Current Wilmington-area meetings include:

Sundays 5 p.m. Dinner 6 p.m. Meeting Harbor Methodist Church 4853 Masonboro Loop Road, Wilmington
Mondays 6 p.m. Dinner 7 p.m. Meeting Sunset Baptist Church 231 Central Blvd., Wilmington
Tuesdays 7 pm Meeting Myrtle Grove Presbyterian Church 800 Piner Road, Wilmington
Thursdays 7 pm Meeting Global River Community Church 4702 S. College Road, Wilmington
Fridays 6 pm Dinner 7 p.m. Meeting Pine Valley United Methodist Church 3788 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington
Fridays 7 p.m. Meeting The Point Church 324 Village Road, Leland

Meetings begin with worship and are followed by either a testimony or lesson in large group. Following large group, men and women's small groups are held separately. More information about Celebrate Recovery can be found at www.celebraterecovery.com.

Life-saving lessons from the changing room

Jana Greene tells her testimony of her path to sobriety saying: "I tried to gather up all the nerves and soul-shreds and bring them to God, but I missed a few pieces in the process. No matter. God found the ones that needed to remain a part of me, and we decided to discard the ones keeping me in bondage. And, bit by bit, he is still restoring me."
