St. Jude's Metropolitan Community Church will celebrate its 20th anniversary with three days of events this weekend, Sept. 7-9. The celebration kicks off with a sold out celebration dinner at the Hannah Block Historic USO Community Arts Center Friday night (Sept. 7). The community will come together for a Picnic in the Park 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 8) at Hugh MacRae Park. And at 7 p.m. Saturday, the church will present a Gospelooza performance with music from area MCC and other community churches in its sanctuary, 19 N. 26th St. At the church's 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services on Sunday (Sept. 9), the founder of the MCC, the Rev. Troy Perry will give the message.
