Counselor blessed by “the one body of Christ” after car accident

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. (KJV -Col 3:15)

These words from the Bible are the very basis for my heartfelt thanks to all the followers of Christ.  Over the years people have asked each other, “What denomination are you”?  For some, the answer to that question makes a significant difference, but from my experience, the very question is what separates us from, rather than uniting us, with the body of Christ.

A severe car accident I recently endured, and the Christian love extended to me in its aftermath, affirms the validity of the above passage.  The same promise, of the unity in Christ, which was shown to me, can be found in another biblical verse:

For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. (KJV I Cor 12)

Immediately after my vehicle was hit, a lovely woman helped me to her car.  She was willing to pray with me and offered much support.  My daughter was also comforted by neighbors.

Other people stopped and then got out of their cars also came to me and prayed with me, too. When I was taken to the hospital, several people from a church I attend arrived.  The pastor’s wife stayed with me and drove my daughter and me home when I was released.

A friend from another church happened to call and, upon hearing the news, brought her children to my house, and they all took care of us for the entire week.

Friends, and those who believe in Christ based healing, were all praying for me.  The founder of the Professional Christian Coaching and Counseling Academy put out a request on Facebook that  followers of Christ would keep us in prayer.

Everyone attended different churches, and not one person asked me where I went to church.  Indeed, we truly acted as one body in Christ because we all love God, we all believe in the power of Christly prayer, and we all understood that God doesn’t care what church we attend.

For as Jesus tells us in John 10:27:

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: and By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. (John 13:35)

I truly am grateful for all the love given to me by this one wonderful body of Christ!

Ravens or Niners? Christians face a ‘Super’ dilemma

A new survey shows that more than a quarter of Americans think God will help decide the winner of Sunday’s Super Bowl. But that doesn’t help the Almighty’s football-loving followers, especially Christians who may need divine wisdom to separate the saints from the sinners in the matchup between the Ravens and the 49ers.

After Boston, will we make peace or holy patriots?

After the violence at the Boston Marathon, America has a choice on its way forward, says Muslim writer Sam Wazan. He writes: "Now, the false question is “Why is Islam a religion of violence?” A better question is “Why do militant Muslim radicals find America to be the frontier?” The right questions diagnose problems more accurately."
