Baptism by waves is a Lifepoint Church tradition and the waves were exceptionally high for the occasion on Aug. 26. About 300 people witnessed 44 of their church members get baptiized in the Atlantic Ocean. Credit: FAVS photo by Jana Greene

On Sunday (Aug. 26), Lifepoint Church held one of its coastal traditions - baptism by waves. About 300 people attended the beach baptisms on Carolina Beach, and 44 people were dipped into the ocean.
